Functions and Capabilities:
The 102 LRS provides deployment planning, training and execution; operating and maintaining a fleet of vehicles and equipment; supply services; fuels support; cargo receiving, packaging/crating and shipping services; personal property and base-wide passenger services.
Background:
After the 2005 BRAC, the unit was redesignated from the 102d Logistics Readiness Squadron to the 102d Logistics Readiness Flight with a reduction of nearly 80% manpower as the Wing transitioned from a Fighter to an Intelligence Wing. Despite being the smallest LRS in the Air Force, in 2012, the squadron earned an “Excellent” rating on the ANG Logistics Compliance Assessment Program Inspection and the ACC Unit Compliance Inspection. In May 2022, the unit was restored to a Squadron after a 43% increase in manpower to support the myriad of Intelligence and Cyber missions that now reside at Otis ANGB. During the last three-unit deployment cycles, the squadron has deployed approximately 30% of its personnel overseas. Additionally, the 102 LRS won the ANG Logistic Readiness Squadron of the Year for Non-Fly Wings in 2021.
