8th Air Force commander visits 102nd Air Operations Group

Maj. Gen. Floyd Carpenter, 8th Air Force commander, visited the 102nd Air Operations Group Aug. 21-22. Pictured above, General Carpenter is greeted by Lt. Col. Richard Sweeten, 102nd Air Operations Group commander. The general was given a briefing on the AOG?s mission that supports the 608th Air and Space Operations Center at Barksdale AFB, La., and then a tour of the facilities. Carpenter said that with cuts to active duty manning, he needs Otis now more than ever to support his command and control requirements for the Global Strike mission.
