The 102nd Intelligence Wing of the Massachusetts Air National Guard honored 42 airmen from the 102nd Security Forces Squadron (SFS) upon their return home from their deployment to Iraq.

The wing held a welcome home ceremony to honor them and their families on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011.

The Airmen received mobilization orders last year and were deployed to Iraq for six-months in support of Operation New Dawn. Their primary responsibilities were to provide security and air base defense operations.

This was the largest number of 102nd SFS Airmen to deploy at the same time since Sept. 11, 2001. In addition, it was the first time the squadron's command staff deployed as a group.
