Members of the 102nd Intelligence Wing demonstrated their generosity during the 2012 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) by contributing $24,774 to the annual program--the most the 102nd has ever risen for this campaign. The goal at the beginning of the season was $20k.

The money raised by Otis was part of the $1 million that was raised by the Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island 2012 CFC.

According to Capt. Keven Dunn, campaign coordinator, Otis contributions from personnel increased by almost $5k over the 2011 campaign. The purpose of the CFC was to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.

"I am truly impressed with the giving spirit of the 102nd Intelligence Wing," said Dunn, "During a time of economic hardship the Wing donated $24,774, the highest amount on record--and they say philanthropy is dead."

Pledges made by federal civilian, postal, military donors during the campaign support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human services benefits throughout the world. According to Dunn, charities that apply for funds through the CFC are tax-exempt charities that are reviewed by the Internal Revenue Service and the CFC.

Col. Patrick Cobb, 102nd Intelligence Wing commander stated, "I want to pass along my gratitude to everyone who gave to CFC this year. We met and surpassed our goal this year which says a lot especially during these tough economic times. It's very heartwarming to see such giving to those less fortunate...thank you."
