Tech. Sgt. Jesse Narcizo and Tech. Sgt. Robert Cambra, 102nd Security Forces Squadron defenders, taught basic combative techniques to fellow squadron members, on Otis Air National Guard Base, June 7, 2024.

The training taught defenders how to maintain control of a threatening situation where they must rely on their hands and body to deal with aggressors.

“You need to be able to handle yourself, being in a combat-oriented career field,” said Cambra. “You need to understand where your limits are. You need to know how to conserve energy and how to basically utilize your skills and your moves just to make sure that you stay safe.”

Cambra brings nine years of experience and skills as an SF Airman and four years as a member of the Massachusetts State Police to the mats, enhancing the readiness of everyone around him.
