Vision Statement:
To create a premier team of cyber ISR analysts who are a reliable continuity to Total Force and aligned units, valued members in the ANG community, and a key asset to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Mission Statement:
To train and retain dedicated professional Airmen, in order to build a cadre of credible and trusted cyber intelligence analysts, for the Total Force and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Federal Mission:
The 203rd IS is charged with sustaining a reserve force of Cyber ISR analysts and support staff capable of augmenting and contributing to global Cyber ISR operations. Augmentees support both home-station, nation-wide, and overseas deployments in addition to providing top notch behind the scenes Cyber ISR guidance.
State Mission:
State mission efforts include providing highly trained and professional intelligence analysts in support of domestic Incident Awareness and Assessment (IAA) and general emergency/event response within the Commonwealth.
Force Structure or Organization:
The 203 IS is a subordinate unit of the 202nd Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group, Otis ANGB, Mass. and is comprised of approximately 90 military personnel. Sections within the squadron include 203 IS Command Staff and 203 IS A, B, and C flights, which augment and contribute to the 202rd global DOD Cyber ISR operations.
Functions and Capabilities
The squadron’s primary mission is to conduct analytical operations and research, providing finished Cyber ISR products, and direct support for consumers across multiple agencies. The focus enables DoD cross-domain operations through reserve readiness and Digital Network Intelligence exploitation. Our goal is to ensure leaders and warfighters maintain an information advantage of military operations around the globe. The 203rd supports the federal and state government as needed by the governor.
Background
The 203rd IS was activated in 2016 at Otis Air National Guard Base, Mass. The unit’s assigned cyber ISR mission is reminiscent of the historic beginnings of the 102 IW, rooted in cutting edge technologies and battlefield observation.
